Delaware River and Bay Authority - Principal Environmental Specialist

Position Overview:

The Principal Environmental Specialist is responsible for demonstrating and reflecting management’s strong commitment to the environment and safety throughout the Authority by conducting audits and training at all facilities to reduce and eliminate workplace hazards and ensure that policies and procedures are being adhered to by employees and contractors. This position is also responsible for the management of all sites air quality management and remediation activities, ensuring cost-effective compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, technical requirements, permits, and oversight of remedial actions. This position will ensure that the Authority is an appropriate steward of the environment through the implementation of best management practices. This position will report to the Manager, EHS.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) related to PFAS on a variety of projects, including those supporting site investigation and remediation activities, product stewardship, and compliance.
  • Oversee, manage, and provide technical expertise on site investigation and remediation projects for a variety of locations with complex technical/regulatory issues.
  • Manage and oversee all air permitting and emissions inventories for Authority locations including refrigeration management.
  • Identify energy and waste reduction opportunities and implement strategies for improvement of site environmental profile.
  • Support Manager, EHS & Director EHS environmental regulatory guidance (Resource, Conservation, Recovery Act (RCRA), Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA) Department of Transportation (DOT), Superfund Amendments & Reauthorization Act (SARA)), and communication of complex regulatory compliance requirements in understandable terms.
  • Makes recommendations to the Director EHS regarding development of and changes to policies, standards and procedures of the Authority based on industry trends and changing regulations.
  • Maintains high visibility and close contact with employees to consistently and continually reinforce environmental and safety standards and best management practices.
  • Respond to requests for on-site assistance or inspection of hazardous or potentially hazardous conditions including emergency situations.
  • Perform site visits, field observations and field data collection with ability to collect detailed site observations and documentation.
  • Supports environmental programs such as Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures (SPCC), Facility Response Plan (FRP), remediation/abatement projects, water quality sampling, air quality sampling / monitoring and other programs as required and completes required external agency reports.
  • Serves as the Authority’s lead inspector for all required inspections and monitoring.
  • Serves as a resident expert for the Authority on all environmental topics required to conduct the business of the Authority.
  • Other duties as assigned and required.
  • Provides the highest level of customer service and professionalism to all internal and external customers.

Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation - Solid Waste Program: Environmental Analyst IV

Position Overview:

Are you driven to help Vermont meet its goals to waste less, recycle more, and keep food scraps out of the trash? The Solid Waste Program is seeking a person to join the Materials Management section. This well-established team values collaboration and varying perspectives and works to implement the statewide Materials Management Plan, Universal Recycling Law, Single Use Products Law and other waste reduction initiatives. The primary responsibility of this position is to work with and support solid waste districts, municipalities, haulers, businesses, schools, and other stakeholders to meet Vermont's waste management goals.

Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority - Executive Director

Position Overview:

The Executive Director manages the daily operations of the Authority, ensuring the seamless functioning of its facilities and programs. This includes overseeing key areas such as the Transfer Station, the Moshannon Valley Landfill, and the Recycling Processing Facility. Beyond day-to-day responsibilities, the Executive Director is also tasked with shaping the future of Centre County’s solid waste management program. The Executive Director leads long-term planning efforts, implements strategic initiatives, and drives performance to meet the Authority’s goals. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director plays a vital role in shaping the Authority’s vision and strategic direction by fostering collaborative relationships with public and private organizations, strengthening partnerships with local municipalities, and advocating for policies that support sustainable waste management. Additionally, the Executive Director works closely with Pennsylvania state legislators to introduce and advance legislation that benefits the community and enhances the Authority’s mission.

Chittenden Solid Waste District - Maintenance Operator

Position Overview:

CSWD’s Maintenance Department supports operations through maintenance and transporting materials. This position does a variety of tasks including basic electrical/plumbing/carpentry skills, mowing, plowing, landscaping, front-end loader operation, basic vehicle maintenance, and food scrap and other materials transport. Our new hire will be a versatile, handy team player that pays close attention to detail, follows instructions, and has a minimum of two years general maintenance experience.  A CDL is a strong plus, but not required. $22-$24/hour with an excellent benefit package. Regional Planner III, Boston, Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection

Position Overview:

Under the supervision of the Branch Chief for Municipal Waste Reduction or their designee, the Regional Planner III will work on implementation of recycling and waste reduction grants, technical assistance and outreach to municipalities, regional entities, and other stakeholders. The RPIII will work closely with other staff on the implementation of the Sustainable Materials Recovery Program with duties that will include but are not limited to; coordinating and administering grant programs; responding to public inquiries about recycling and waste reduction; communicating grant program policies to municipal officials; tracking grant expenditures and coordinating with fiscal staff. The RPIII will also assist with recycling and waste reduction education programs, municipal recycling data management, and other initiatives that support the Commonwealth’s Solid Waste Master Plan goals.

Part-Time Coordinator,  Massachusetts Product Stewardship Council

Position Overview:

Massachusetts Product Stewardship Council (MassPSC), a subcommittee of MassRecycle focused on advancing Extended Producer Responsibility legislation, is seeking a dedicated and organized individual to manage programming and administrative tasks. This remote position requires approximately 8 hours per week, including participation in 2–3 weekly Zoom meetings. Candidates must be within traveling distance to Massachusetts to attend 3 annual in-person events.


Key Responsibilities:


MassPSC Programming:

  • Develop and manage the MassPSC portion of the MassRecycle newsletter.
  • Write and update flyers, website content, and template letters.
  • Track municipal resolutions and maintain accurate records.
  • Conduct research and draft content to support programming initiatives.
  • Prepare booth materials for conferences and events.


MassPSC Administration:

  • Participate in two weekly meetings with the MassPSC lead. 
  • Draft and manage template emails and correspondence.
  • Correspond with legislative staff.
  • Organize and attend monthly planning calls, including preparing agendas.
  • Create slides for board meetings.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings for the team and stakeholders.


Qualifications:

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Interest in sustainability and legislative advocacy is a plus.
  • Proficiency in managing remote work tools (e.g., Zoom, email, scheduling software).
  • Ability to travel to Massachusetts for three annual in-person events.

Job Summary:

PaintCare seeks a qualified candidate to assist with administering the paint stewardship program in Washington, DC, and Maryland. This position requires a significant amount of in-field work to coordinate the activities of the PaintCare program.


The candidate must be located in Washington, DC or Maryland. While most of this position’s responsibilities are completed remotely and in the field, the candidate may also use ACA headquarters, which is located in Washington, DC. Extensive travel throughout the District and Maryland will be required to visit drop-off sites and meet with local stakeholders. Overnight travel time will vary and may exceed 25% of the time.
