Daniel Kietzer, Director of Sustainability, Rheaply


Daniel has over a decade of experience in circular economy and sustainability, consistently driving impactful projects with visionary companies and organizations worldwide. While he is deeply rooted in advancing reuse and recycling markets, Daniel's influence and inspiration spans a broad spectrum of intersectional sustainability topics, including social entrepreneurship, urban planning, water preservation, and carbon reduction strategies. Beyond this, Daniel has a keen interest in software platforms, innovative project and product design, and fostering entrepreneurship that leverages waste materials and by-products.

James Ruttan, Co-founder and CEO, iWasteNot



James began managing his first software company in his early twenties before pivoting to the film and television industry and leading the charge into digital production around the turn of the millennium. James returned to software in 2004, co-founding iWasteNot Systems and designing websites for the US Environmental Protection Agency, the Cities of New York, Vancouver and Chicago and winning plaudits from reviewers such as ‘an interesting and useful resource’ and ‘a very cleverly designed website’. James assumed the role of CEO at iWasteNot in 2021.

Norm Ruttan, Co-founder and President, iWastenot


Norm Ruttan is President of iWastenot Systems which helps people in communities and organizations move toward zero waste in a circular economy as a more sustainable way of life.

Graduating from the University of Western Ontario in 1967, he worked as a High School Science Teacher for 7 years, then returned to University for a 2nd degree in Ecology. Graduating a 2nd time he joined Parks Canada working first as a park naturalist, then middle manager, and finally National Park Superintendent. Norm founded iWastenot Systems after retirement in 2003. Having worked to conserve nature for most of his life, he decided that helping people live lighter on the land would have more impact ‘upstream’.
