The City of New Haven is seeking a part-time recycling educator who will develop and implement waste reduction and recycling programs through education and outreach, working in partnership with the Department of Parks and Public Works, the New Haven Solid Waste and Recycling Authority, the Office of Climate and Sustainability, and the general public in order to meet local and state materials management goals.  The primary focus of this position will be on single stream recycling, but duties will extend to education regarding organics recycling (composting) and hard to recycle materials, such as household hazardous waste.

MassDEP is hiring a Regional Planner for the Bureau of Air & Waste - Municipal Waste Reduction branch. The Regional Planner IV oversees MassDEP’s Municipal Assistance Coordinators (MACs), who work for MassDEP through contracts with host municipalities/regional groups. This includes maintaining and updating Host Entity Contracts, hiring and onboarding as needed, and reviewing the work of these positions. The RPIV also provides guidance to municipal officials on recycling and solid waste contracting and other recycling markets issues and helps connect municipal officials with reuse and recycling market opportunities.

New Hampshire

NHDES QR CodeThe NHDES Solid Waste Management Bureau has released a *NEW* webpage for residents called “Managing My Waste.” The site is dedicated to helping the public understand how to recycle or dispose of the wastes they create. The A-Z list and corresponding blog posts provide information for managing various batteries, fireworks/flares, fluorescent light bulbs, medicine, propane tanks, smoke detectors, tires, and more! NHDES strongly encourages towns and solid waste facilities to add the link or QR code to their websites, as a universal resource for residents to use.
